HELLO FROM FRANCE !
Hi everybody
I am Virginie and I live in the north of France. I have a small select kennel, all my dogs live with me in the house.
I have one tricolour stud dog : Velours Noir du Clos de Montamer, well-known as "Rocco"
he is actually available at stud in England, at ERJON kennel. I miss him so much !
2 blue merle bitches : Boheme du Clos de Montamer
and her daughter (by Rocco) Coco Chanel de la Chapelle aux Arbres
pictured here as a pup
1 tricolour bitch (daughter of Rocco) : Iridescent Careless Whisper - she lives in co-ownership with great friends.
1 sable bitch : Absolutely Fabulous du Chemin des Randonnées
I have also still at home, Call me Dynamite, who will join Ireland in Mid August. He is the proud son of his dad !
and two retired : Player and Satine de la Bergerie des Quatre Vents (Satine is now living with my parents in law)
What can I say about me ? I like very typed collies, with strong bones, and EXPRESSION !!!! I bred with my heart and I am not interested in using only champions.... that means nothing for me. I think I have to breed the collie I am fond of and not the one who will surely loved by the judge. I like the shows but I have to admit it is not a fair place... unfortunately. But I try

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
Hello Virginie,
I also consider that expression means a lot to a dog and especially to this breed. You have excellent dogs and more important a very healthy mind . Congratulations!

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
Hello Virginie and welcome to this collie forum from Ireland! I hope you enjoy our chats here..
I love your collies, they have wonderful shape, head and most importantly EXPRESSION!!
I see you are sending one of your tri puppies to Ireland in August, Call me Dynamite... May I ask what kennel will this lucky lad be going to? I know a lot of the Irish Collie folk and they are great people who truely love their dogs and I am sure this little lad will have a lovely new home and I may see him around the showring in 2009.
I very much love your collies and I have really enjoyed viewing your website and loving all the photos!
Roberta

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
thank you for the pictures !
He looks really lovely ! I have found more photos of him I think, and from her sister, in another place, but I don't know if I can put them on my hp ? I don't know to who they own and in which kennel ? I would like to be in touch with their owner...

Their owner is Elena Shumeiko from Krasnodar (it's south of Russia). Here on forum is Oxana Cheb (Dzhimis), they are friends with Elena and I think she has Elena's email.

[Hello Virgine!
You have wonderfull collies. Rocco is the best for me. His head is gorgeous! And his boy is also awesome! Congratulations!
That's really nice, that you have you own opinion about this breed, i like good expressions but for me moving is everything, and of course big collies. For example, mine is 62 cm tall.

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
yes I agree with you movement is important ! But yes, I have to admit that the first thing I look at is the expression, if a collie has no expression, for me it is a pity ! I like to look at my collies every day, their head, their eyes........ I am always in love. I want to be in love with them when they are pups, when they are young, adults, older.
In France, 62 cm is not authorized if you breed and dogs with that height will not recognized as dogs with pedigree, we have to follow the english standard.
Thank you for loving Rocco.

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
I agree that the expression is one of the most important thing but i won'T breed a collie who has nice head, but the movement and body isn'T ok. For me it's the first, because i couldn'T work and do agility, frizbee without it. And of course i adore to see in the deep black eyes, and i understand what you say.
I like that my collie is 62 cm tall. In Hungary We use English standard as well, but one centimeter is allowed. Maybe because there aren't really big ones here.

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
In France, none centimer is allowed but it depends who is the owner of the dogs, as usually......... it is like in the rings.
Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
I think it's the same here.
And what about the shelties? Is there any centimiters more allowed in France? Becaouse in Hungary we have enormous shelties.... 5 or 6 cm taller than the standard.

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
I think it is the same with shelties, in France you have the american lines - most of them, and the english lines. With the first ones, you meet a lot of some shelties who are higher the authorized standard.
Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
My first blue bitch, Thémis, was very high, at the limit, I was loving a lot her construction ! She was adoring to do herding with me (she has had also her herding test at 9 months old), and had a super movement. And she had expression ! Just that to say you can have a lovely dog with great expression, it does not mean you have lost the other important points. all the qualities are compatible and we all tend to have the maximum of them !
Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
She was very beautiful! She was so nice as her mother "Rhapsody in Blue" ! They were very similar
Why did your sweet treasure died so early?

Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
Wow, Thémis was actually beautiful! Did you go also to dogshows besides the herding?
Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !
yes, I have made more than 30 shows with her, until she died 3 days after an anethesia for hip test at only 2 years old.
She was wonderful in everything, she should have been international and belgian champion as she had all the CAC and CACIB required....
I will never forgot her, she was my dream in blue and I will always be thankfull to her breeder for letting me have Rocco, after this tragic loss. And he was reminding me Themis so much ! It was incredible ! They are half brother and sister and Boheme is also an half sister of Themis. They have all the same mother : the fantastic Rhapsody in Blue du Clos de Montamer
